QuickTime Download and Installation Help Downloading software from Apple Computer's web site is easy. When you reach the site, you will be prompted for your name, e-mail address, and operating system (Mac OS or Windows 95/NT). Then you just click the Download QuickTime button. When you click to download, you will be prompted for a location to save the installation program, named QuickTimeInstaller. You may want to save the installation program inside a folder or directory of your choosing. In the example below, we downloaded the software and saved it inside a folder named "Download." Any folder will do, just be sure to remember the location! When the download is complete, you need to run the installation program. Locate the program on your computer and double click the icon to start the installation. We recommend that you stick with the default choices offered during the installation process. These often include decision points about where to install QuickTime and what version to install. We recommend installation of the Basic Playback version, as it's the smallest and quickest. You can always choose to install a different version later. When you're done with the installation, simply try out some of our samples!
